Roof Cleaning & Repair in Shannon, Ennis & Limerick
Moss, algae and blocked gutters are the single most common reason a roof starts letting water in. We clean, inspect and carry out minor repairs so a small problem doesn’t turn into a full re-roof five years early.

Send a photo of your roof and we’ll give you a fair, fixed price before booking anything in.
What’s included
- Moss and algae removal from tiles, slates or concrete roofing
- Full gutter clearing and downpipe check
- Loose, cracked or slipped tile inspection with minor repair
- Chimney flashing and roof vent check
- Wash-down and a photo report of the finished roof
Signs your roof needs attention
Most homeowners only think about the roof when something visibly goes wrong — a damp patch on a ceiling, or a tile in the garden after a storm. By then, the underlying issue has usually been building for a while. Worth checking for: dark green or black staining on the tiles, gutters overflowing during rain, moss visible from the ground on a north-facing slope, or a roof that hasn’t been looked at in more than three or four years.
Why it matters more here than in most of the country
The west of Ireland sees more rainfall and more overcast, humid days than the east coast, and that’s exactly the combination moss and algae need to establish and spread. A roof in Shannon, Ennis or Limerick that’s never been cleaned will usually show far more growth by year four or five than a comparable roof further inland. Left alone, the moss holds moisture against the tile surface, which speeds up wear, can lift tiles slightly, and lets water track underneath — often long before any leak becomes visible inside the house.

Our process
Free inspection & fixed price
We take a look from the ground, and from the roof itself where access allows, then send a clear, fixed price — not a vague estimate that changes on the day.
Clean & treat
Moss and algae are removed using a method suited to the roof type, then treated to slow regrowth. Gutters and downpipes are cleared as part of the same visit.
Inspect & repair
Any loose tiles, slipped slates or flashing issues we find are flagged with photos, and straightforward repairs are carried out on the day where possible.
Photo report & handover
You get before-and-after photos of the finished roof and a note on anything worth keeping an eye on going forward.
What affects the price
Roof size and pitch, how much moss has built up, ease of access, and whether any tiles need replacing all factor into the quote. A roof that’s been left for six or seven years typically takes longer to clean properly than one that’s had regular attention — which is part of why a maintenance clean every couple of years tends to work out cheaper over time than one big job every decade.
Frequently asked questions
How often should a roof actually be cleaned?
You get before-and-after photos of the finished roof and a note on anything worth keeping an eye on going forward.
Will cleaning damage the tiles?
Not with the right method — we use low-pressure techniques suited to the roof type rather than aggressive pressure washing, which can loosen tiles or strip protective coatings on concrete tiles.
Do you work on slate as well as tiled roofs?
Yes — natural slate, concrete tile and most common roof types found on homes across Clare and Limerick.
What if you find a problem bigger than a clean can fix?
We’ll point it out with photos and give you a separate, clear price before any extra work happens — nothing gets added to the job without your sign-off.
Do I need to be home during the work?
No, as long as we have safe access to the property. We’ll confirm access details when the visit is booked.
